I heard there was a holiday recently?

Happy 4th of July! At work we decorated with some appropriately colored patriotic stuff. I was going to take pictures for Jen, who hasn't been in the office for at least a week or two, but sometime between noon and 1AM someone took most of the decorations down.

This may be because a person with a heart two sizes too small was annoyed with them or because they thought they were doing me a favor. However, this one lone decoration was left hanging from the ceiling. You be the judge. Either way, I thought they were pretty cool. Sure, we're not 5 so we're not as impressed with decorations any more but at least it was something.

Some redwhiteandblue draped off someone's chair and a little symbolic of how must of us feel around here.

A fellow employee recently quit. HR told him "we must be doing something right" since our overturn is not that bad. ha! Laziness conquers most things.

Sorry Jen, this is the best I can do. It was left in a pile on someone's desk. I guess you can imagine it stretched out with all the stars hanging down. We also had food, sweets, etc.

I found this online. It should give you an idea of what the stars looked like when hanging. Thankfully Graham is extremely tall and was able to hang this stuff up for me (horizontally challenged).

I noticed Yahoo had a nifty fireworks dispay. It was animated. Looks like they're trying to outdo Google.

Speaking of Google, their logo wasn't quite as brilliant as it has been for other occassions. Coincidentally, this is the first night that Adonis the cat willingly came out of hiding to get pet, a massage and food. We are really proud. :) He even licked Apollo's hand!

I didn't do anything else for the 4th except attempt to sleep and yell things out my window like, "Can't you guys have a conversation without yelling?!" I don't know why people have to yell at the top of their lungs all at the same time, as if competing to be heard. Maybe someone can explain to me why this is a logical way to communicate. GAH!
