Damn labels!!

Well. When I bought this Baby Cashmerino a couple weeks ago, the lady at the store convinced me that the two dye lots of the remaining yarn balls in this colorway looked pretty close. Even if they weren't, it wasn't that big a deal, I figured I could knit the hat in the other dye lot or the back panel, etc. This was before I realized the body of the sweater is knit in one piece. Once I realized this, I put the extra dye lot yarn balls aside and started knitting. Last night I cast on the second ball from the same dye lot and knit away until my eyes couldn't take it any longer. Around 1:30am as I was stuffing my project into its bag, I realized there was a problem.

It seems the labels for the yarn balls got mixed up in the store and the second yarn ball is from a different dye lot. At first I thought it wasn't that visible and that the non-knitting recipients wouldn't see the color change but when Apollo noticed it right away, I figured I would have to frog it today. And now that I look at it with refreshed eyes, it's glaringly obvious! I'm only inches away from finishing the body of the sweater too. :(
